I'm Tamara Lucas. NW Pugs is
our family business.
I grew up on a working farm here in Oregon. Among other things, my family ran a successful
Dog kennel and breeding program that was founded in the 1960's. My mother showed
her dogs in the AKC shows, and earned the title of Champion on many of them
herself. So one could say the foundation for breeding and raising quality dogs
was established early on.
NW Pugs was once "Look At Us Kennels", specializing in Miniature Dachshunds. We raised Dachshunds for many years until I met our first pug. It was literally "Love at first site"! We have been raising pugs ever since. Although we occasionally dabble into other things, our main focus will always be our Pugs.
For over 11 years now, NW Pugs has been working hard to improve on our breeding program. We have imported a few fine Pugs form other states, and also kept some of our best pups.
Climbing the ladder and
learning the ropes...
We have produced a few pups that finished their Championship. We hope to spend
more time competing in the AKC show ring in the future. A Champion title is
documented proof of quality, beauty, and pride.
